About me
Hi, I’m Heather!
I’ve been doing hair for over a decade and have spent most of my life in a salon environment. Growing up in my mother’s hair salon in the late ’90s and early 2000s, being anywhere but a salon felt foreign to me.
After high school, I attended Continental Academie of Hair Design in 2014. I’ve been fortunate to work with incredibly knowledgeable educators and amazing salons that have taught me so much of what I know today.
Trends are always evolving, so continuing my education in the latest colors, techniques, and styles is a top priority. My goal is to always give my guests the best service possible.
Q & A
-
The average person should wash their hair about 2 to 3 times per week, depending on their hair type, lifestyle, and scalp condition. Washing too often can strip the hair of natural oils, leading to dryness and irritation, while not washing enough can cause buildup and an oily scalp.
People with oily hair or who exercise frequently may need to wash more often, while those with dry, curly, or color-treated hair can usually go longer between washes to help preserve moisture and prevent damage.
Do you have curly hair and frequently exercise? There are shampoos and conditioners, like DevaCurl, that can clean your hair without the extra exfoliation from the suds.
-
Getting trims every 3 months will help prevent splitting. Hair is always growing from our scalp but if its splitting and breaking off at the ends, growth will be slow or not happen.
Using minimal heat with heat protection is also key to preventing split ends. Keep the heat low (220-360)

Morning Routine
Gently Detangle
Use a wide-tooth comb or soft detangling brush.
Start at the ends and work upward to avoid breakage.
Apply Leave-In Conditioner or Serum
Choose a color-safe leave-in with UV protection and hydration.
For extra shine or smoothness, use a lightweight oil or serum (avoid heavy oils near roots).
Style with Protection
Limit heat styling when possible.
If you do use heat tools:
Apply a heat protectant spray (look for one safe for colored hair).
Air-dry when you can, or use a low-heat setting on blow dryers.
Night Routine
Brush or Comb Hair
Removes tangles and evenly distributes natural oils.
Apply Nourishing Oil or Leave-In to Ends (optional)
Helps prevent split ends and color fading.
Sleep Smart
Use a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction and frizz.
Consider a loose braid or bun to minimize tangling.
Washing Routine (2–3x a Week)
You don’t need to wash color-treated hair daily (this fades color faster).
Use Sulfate-Free Shampoo
Sulfates strip color — avoid them.
Look for shampoos labeled “color-safe” or “for color-treated hair.”
Condition Every Wash
Choose a moisturizing, color-protecting conditioner.
Focus on mid-length to ends.
Deep Condition Weekly
Use a color-safe deep conditioning mask once a week.
If your hair feels dry or over-processed, consider a protein treatment every 2–4 weeks (not too often — it can cause stiffness).
Bonus Tips for Preserving Color
Avoid hot water: Wash with cool or lukewarm water to reduce fading.
UV protection: Wear a hat or use a UV-protectant spray if you're in the sun a lot.
Chlorine protection: Before swimming, wet hair and apply a conditioner or use a swim cap to prevent color stripping. Wetting hair with spring water before pool helps prevent hair from feeling web like.

Traditional Foil Highlights
Hair is sectioned and evenly weaved. Lightener is applied from root to tip, and each piece is wrapped tightly in foil
Very structured, with precise partings and uniform placement.
Typically lighter roots to ends, often creating more contrast.
Defined, consistent streaks or ribbons of color. Can be bold or subtle depending on sectioning.
Roots become visible faster — touch-ups every 6–10 weeks.
Foilayage (Foil Balayage) *my service packages
Lightener is painted on in a sweeping motion (like traditional balayage), but the sections are wrapped in foil to increase lift and processing.
More artistic and freehand — focuses on surface painting and natural gradient placement.
Focused on mid-lengths to ends, giving a softer transition with brighter ends.
Natural, sun-kissed look with a blended gradient effect. More diffused at the roots.
Grows out softly — maintenance every 3-9 months or longer.
